Hey Nerds,

It's Tuesday, the day that sounds like it should be better than Monday but absolutely isn't. Like a sequel that had all the same problems as the original but now with worse CGI. I tried to get my life together this morning. Opened my email, saw 47 unread messages and closed out of my email. Some problems are tomorrow's problems. All of my problems are tomorrow's problems. Tomorrow me is going to be SO mad. But that's his issue, not mine.

IN THIS ISSUE:

  • Star Wars fans buying billboards to resurrect Adam Driver's dead character

  • IMAX installing 70mm projectors for one Christopher Nolan movie

  • Colin Farrell betting against his own show getting renewed

    ...and more

STAR WARS FANS LAUNCH BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN FOR DEAD CHARACTER

Star Wars fans have launched a grassroots campaign with billboards, airplane banners, and missing posters to pressure Disney into making "The Hunt for Ben Solo," following Adam Driver's character after Rise of Skywalker. A plane literally flew over Disney Studios with a "Save Ben Solo" banner while a Times Square billboard proclaimed "Ben is alive!"

Now that's dedication! I once started a petition to bring back Crystal Pepsi and got three signatures. All me. Different email addresses.

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MAKES THEATERS INSTALL 70MM PROJECTORS

IMAX and Cinemark are installing new 70mm film projection systems at 17 locations specifically for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which releases July 17, 2026 and is the first theatrical release shot entirely in IMAX film. Three theaters in Chicago, Colorado Springs, and Rochester are getting equipment that costs more than my house. Well, more than a house I could afford. Which is no house. But still.

Nolan convinced theater chains to spend millions on projectors for ONE MOVIE. Meanwhile I can't convince my building's super to fix the garbage disposal. It's been six months. It just screams at me. Like a demon. A wet demon.

COLIN FARRELL BETS AGAINST HIS OWN SHOW

Colin Farrell revealed he'd "bet against, but not by much" on The Penguin getting a Season 2, despite HBO thinking of storylines for another eight hours. He also confirmed Penguin has a smaller role in The Batman Part II than the first film.

This man is out here actively discouraging his own employment opportunities. That's like me telling potential dates about my collection of expired coupons. Which I do. It's extensive. Organized by year of expiration. 2019 was a good vintage.

TOBEY MAGUIRE'S SPIDER-MAN 4 STILL TECHNICALLY POSSIBLE

Writer Mattson Tomlin revealed his Spider-Man 4 pitch with Tobey Maguire hasn't received a "no" yet, though it involves "a lot of people and politics." The concept shows Peter Parker as a husband and father juggling saving the world with family life.

Kirsten Dunst says she'd return too, which means two people are interested in a movie that will absolutely never happen. But hey, at least they're trying. Unlike my attempt to learn guitar. Still have it. Still can't play Wonderwall.

SPEED ROUND OF DECREASING RELEVANCE

  • The Running Man tickets on sale with new poster showing someone getting crossbow-bolted through the head. Glen Powell runs from murder on live TV. The marketing team chose violence. Literally.

  • IT: Welcome to Derry Episode 2 dropping Halloween at 3am ET because nothing says "holiday spirit" like demonic clowns at ungodly hours. Regular people will watch it Sunday like normal humans.

  • Dwayne Johnson voicing an accident-prone dik-dik named Zeke in Zootopia 2. The Rock is playing a tiny antelope. Let that sink in. The hierarchy of power in the Disney universe is about to change.

  • Rosario Dawson says Ahsoka's getting "back into her joy" in Season 2. After Season 1's trauma therapy with Force Ghost Anakin, she's finally healing. Good for her. Wish I could heal by fighting my dead mentor in space purgatory.

  • Alien: Earth showrunner wants Season 2 to explore corporate monopolies because nothing says "xenomorph horror" like discussions about market consolidation. Can't blow up Earth due to canon. Containment will be "very hard." You think?

CALENDAR

  • October 31, 2025 - IT Episode 2 at 3am for psychopaths

  • July 17, 2026 - Nolan's Odyssey in unnecessary 70mm

Think of it as paying for a service: I watch the trailers so you don't have to. I read the announcements. I suffer. You benefit. Capitalism, baby.
