Hey Nerds,
Woke up with the kind of ambitious energy that made me think I could reorganize my entire life before noon. All I've done is move a pile of clothes from my bed to my chair. Progress? Sure. If progress means creating a chair monster that judges my life choices. The clothes have formed a union. They're demanding better working conditions. I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to be my clothes either.

The Conjuring gets a TV show
John Travolta fighting AI in a horror movie
My Hero Academia live-action movie gets a Wonder Woman writer
...and more
THE CONJURING TV SHOW GETS WANDAVISION WRITERS
HBO Max hired Nancy Won from "Tiny Beautiful Things" to run The Conjuring series with WandaVision writers Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires.
These are the people who made us cry about a fake TV sitcom reality and now they're doing demon possession.
Remember when horror was just horror? Now it needs prestige TV credentials. Next they'll announce the Saw series with writers from The Crown. "Tonight on HBO, witness the elegant dismemberment of British aristocracy." Actually I'd watch that. Forget I said anything.
DAVID F. SANDBERG DOING AMITYVILLE BECAUSE WE RAN OUT OF ORIGINAL HAUNTED HOUSES
The guy who did "Lights Out" and "Annabelle: Creation" is reimagining Amityville Horror for Amazon MGM.
Reimagining. Not remaking. Reimagining.
Like when I "reimagine" my apartment by moving the couch two inches to the left and calling it feng shui. Same house, same ghosts, but now with modern lighting techniques and probably a TikTok subplot.
I visited the actual Amityville house once. It's just a house. With different windows now because they got tired of tourists. That's the real horrorβpeople taking photos of your home at 3am when you're just trying to sleep.
JOHN TRAVOLTA FIGHTING AI IN A HORROR MOVIE CALLED 'ED'
Travolta joined an AI horror thriller filming in Georgia with Chet Hanks.
"Ed" is the least threatening name for AI since Clippy. "It looks like you're trying to murder humans. Would you like help with that?" Actually that's scarier than most horror movies now that I think about it.
Crystal Reed's also in it because apparently Teen Wolf alumni need paychecks too.
MY HERO ACADEMIA GETS THE WONDER WOMAN WRITER
Netflix and Legendary hired Jason Fuchs who wrote Wonder Woman and It: Welcome to Derry for the live-action My Hero Academia.
You know why this won't work?
Because anime doesn't translate to live-action. It just doesn't.
Remember Death Note?
Dragonball Evolution?
Cowboy Bebop?
One Piece?
Fullmetal Alchemist?
Speed Racer?
Ghost in the Shell where they made Scarlett Johansson Asian somehow?
Avatar: The Last Airbender which wasn't technically anime but Shyamalan treated it like one and look how that went?
No? Your brain blocked them all out? That's your survival instinct working.
SPEED ROUND FOR SCROLLERS WITH COMMITMENT ISSUES
Hazbin Hotel Season 2 - Trailer dropped for the demon musical. October 29 start. Amazon already ordered Seasons 3-4 because they have infinite money and finite taste.
Rick and Morty: THE END - Either the comics are ending or it's an event. Oni Press being cryptic. December. Whatever.
Paul Wesley teasing Kirk evolution in Strange New Worlds final season. Evolution meaning he'll kiss someone inappropriately probably.
Bryan Fuller still talking about Hannibal Season 4 like it's happening. It's not happening. Let it go, Bryan. We all need to let things go.
Disney+ ordering YA horror pilot "Eerie Prep" with gender-swapped lead because that's the creative process now. Take existing thing, swap gender, call it fresh. We've reached peak laziness disguised as progressiveness.
CALENDAR
October 29, 2025 - Hazbin Hotel S2 begins
November 19, 2025 - Hazbin Hotel S2 ends (math!)
December 2025 - Rick and Morty maybe ends
Eventually - My Hero Academia disappoints
Never - Hannibal Season 4
Got feelings about any of this?
Hit me up on Bluesky where I'm processing John Travolta's career trajectory from Vincent Vega to fighting AI named Ed.
